The Foothills Children’s Wellness Network has been established to ensure access to all the local community resources devoted to giving our children the best possible start in life. This new network is about co-ordinating our existing services and making help available everywhere it’s needed, so that we can all raise happy, healthy children.

The Sheep River Health Trust is dedicated to supporting the provision of comprehensive health services in the Foothills area. The Health Trust aims to promote health and well being throughout our local communities by working in partnership with the residents of the area. The SRHT is a registered charitable organization which raises funds to support health services and wellness programs for the residents of Longview, Black Diamond, Turner Valley, Millarville, DeWinton, Okotoks, and the surrounding rural area.

 

Journey’s Family Development Program

The Journey’s Family Development Program by McMan Calgary provides support and education to families who are struggling with multiple challenges. These families have either identified a need for support or have been identified as recipients for intervention services in the communities of Willow Creek and the Municipal District of Foothills.

Our Family Centre, part of the Greater Foothills Family Resource Network provides information, referrals and programs on parenting, child development, and family support.

 

Okotoks Foodbank

okotoksfoodbankWe provide non-perishable food items, frozen meat and vegetables, as well as fresh produce, eggs, margarine and milk cards. We’re a registered charity under the Societies Act and provide tax receipts to donors. We receive support of food and monetary donations from Food Drives, Fundraisers and donations from individuals and businesses.

 

Okotoks Library

The Okotoks Public Library has been a fixture of the Okotoks community since 1977! We’ve come a long way from the tiny little room on main street, first moving to our current location in 1990 and then expanding (to almost double the size!) in 2005. We are a member of the Marigold Library System and a part of the resource sharing mechanism of TRAC which is Alberta wide. We are proud to serve the Town of Okotoks and the surrounding MD of Foothills.
